SEE Civil completes road upgrade at SeasideCasuarina Way, a main thoroughfare which links the Casuarina, Seaside and Salt precincts, has been transformed into a divided road by the SEE Civil team, as part of the first stage of civil works at the $750 million Seaside development. Seaside marketing manager Zel Creswick said the new Casuarina Way is much improved and ticks all the boxes for motorists. "In addition to upgrading the road to a dual carriage-way, all traffic calmers have been removed and two new roundabouts have been installed at the central and southern points of Seaside. This will really improve the flow of traffic along this strip," she said. "Although there are alternative routes for those travelling along the Tweed Coast, these recent upgrades make Casuarina Way a more appealing and scenic option. "Visitors can get a glimpse at the natural beauty the region has to offer – with bushland, Cudgen Creek and Mount Warning creating a stunning backdrop on the western boundary of the road." SEE Civil chief executive officer Craig Long said road works were continuing to advance at Seaside. "The underground infrastructure and formation of all roads in the estate is now complete, with the development's main roads – Casuarina Way and Ocean Avenue - fully sealed and open for public access," he said. "The rest of the streets within the community will be completed and opened in the near future as part of stage two construction works. "Ample car-parking space is also being created for residents and guests who want to access the Creekside precinct or Seaside's beach, or just visit family and friends." Mr Long said the road works were not the only new means of transport at Seaside. "A network of cycleways is being built to encourage people to walk or use a bicycle where possible," he said. "The beachfront and creekside pathways are nearing completion, and should be open to the public by October this year. "We have also built a pathway on either side of Casuarina Way to allow pedestrians safe travel along this busy road. "Peter Dun, the on site landscaping manager, has also done a fantastic job of co-ordinating the planting of large Moreton Bay Figs, Date Palms and native trees along Casuarina Way and Ocean Avenue. "The estate is starting to really take shape with the trees really thriving as the weather starts to warm up for spring." Seaside is being developed at the heart of the popular $4 billion New Tweed Coast residential and resort strip, located just 15 minutes south of Gold Coast Airport and within easy driving distance of Brisbane and Byron Bay. The $750 million development will comprise a village centre and retail precinct, tourist accommodation, home sites and medium density homes and apartments for an ultimate population of up to 2,000 people. |
